The Dagger

Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words can never hurt me.
For the hurtful words have been said so long,
all feeling hath desert me.
Whence the words began,
twas a dagger plunged into my chest,
for thy words sent the knife
turning,
turning,
turning
in my breast.
So now there's a hollow, empty hole
and you tried to pull the dagger out,
but too late,
the damage done,
tis fiction in the saying no doubt.

  1. I love it Alice!!!! :D
...the only thing... maybe I'd cut out the word into (my chest)and just leave it "... in my chest"
...and leave out, and (you tried to...) -maybe leave it "you tried to pull the dagger out,"
..lol practicing my constructive criticism for Indepen Create Writ!
